#कुमाऊँनी  लोकगीत कुमाऊँनी लोकगीत मध्य हिमालय के नैनीताल, अल्मोड़ा, गढ़वाल, टेहरी, पिथौरागढ़, चमौली और उत्तर काशी में रहनेवाली पर्वतीय जातियों के गीत हैं। इन गीतों को दो भागों में बाँटा जा सकता हैं : 1-संस्कार के गीत, जो नारियों द्वारा पुत्रजन्म, नामकरण, यज्ञोपवीत एवं विवाह के समय गाए जाते हैं, तथा 2-मेलों, त्योहारों और ऋतुओं के गीत। इस क्षेत्र के प्राय: सभी संस्कार शंकुनाखरगीत से आरंभ होते हैं। इनमें गणेश, ब्रह्मा, राम तथा अन्य देवताओं से कार्यसिद्धि की प्रार्थना की जाती है। गीतों में मनुष्य, पशु, पक्षी संदेशवाहक का कार्य करते दिखाई पड़ते हैं, जो देवी देवताओं के अतिरिक्त दूरस्थ संबंधियों का भी संदेश ले जाते हैं। बिदाई के गीत अन्य स्थानों की तरह ही मार्मिक होते हैं। दूसरे प्रकार के गीतों में झोड़ा, चाँचरी भगनौल और बैर प्रमुख हैं। इन गीतों में सामाजिक जीवन एवं समस्याओं की विशेष चर्चा रहती है। ये विभिन्न मेलों एवं उत्सवों के अवसर पर गाए जाते हैं। इन्हें कई गायक अथवा गायिकाएँ मिलकर गाती हैं। ऋतुगीतों को यहाँ 'ऋतुरेण' कहते हैं। ये गीत चैत मास में गाए जाते हैं। ऋतुरेण में मंगलसूचक ...
